Seafarers’ House is pleased to announce Alexandra Anagnostis-Irons, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Total Marine Solutions (TMS) as the recipient of the 2025 International Golden Compass Award.
The International Golden Compass Award is conferred annually to individuals who have achieved distinction within the maritime industry, whose professional or personal lives are closely linked to the sea, or who have provided exemplary service to seafarers. Ms. Anagnostis-Irons will be formally honored at the 29th Annual Seafarers’ House International Golden Compass Gala on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the Bahia Mar Resort in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Ms. Anagnostis-Irons founded TMS in 2000 as an environmental solutions company based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. With a global technical support presence, TMS delivers innovative, MARPOL-compliant solutions and training to the cruise, commercial, offshore, yacht, government, and port sectors Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, TMS is internationally recognized by its unwavering commitment to customer service and environmental compliance.
Ms. Anagnostis-Irons began her maritime career in the cruise sector, where she worked in senior leadership positions within marine and technical operations, including Director of Technical Purchasing at Royal Caribbean Cruises.
A lifelong resident of South Florida, Ms. Anagnostis-Irons holds both a Master of Business Administration and an undergraduate degree from Barry University in Miami, Florida. She maintains active leadership roles in numerous maritime and philanthropic organizations, currently serving as Treasurer and Executive Board Member for Seafarers’ House at Port Everglades, Executive Committee Member of the Coast Guard Foundation and InterManager, Secretary and Board Member of the Port Everglades Association, and Board Member of both the U.S. Superyacht Association and the Marine Research Hub. She also serves on the Advisory Committee for the Advanced Certificate in Maritime Business program at World Maritime Academy. Her prior service includes Chair of Broward Navy Days, Board Member of the SUNY Maritime Foundation, Executive Committee Member of WISTA International, and President of WISTA USA. Ms. Anagnostis-Irons has been recognized as a 2022 Women Trailblazer by History Fort Lauderdale and was inducted into the Influential Business Women’s Leadership Group by the South Florida Business Journal in 2023.
